Product Manager, Amazon Fresh Grocery Private Brands
Description We are seeking an entrepreneurial leader who is passionate about products, brands, and food to join our Amazon Fresh Private Brands (AFPB) team as a Product Manager. You will drive the long-term strategy and development of our private brand food products, working cross-functionally to identify customer needs, develop innovative concepts, and bring them to market while meeting Amazon's high standards for quality and value. This role requires the ability to navigate complex, ambiguous situations and make high-impact decisions that significantly influence AFPB's business outcomes. The ideal candidate is customer-obsessed, growth-minded, comfortable with ambiguity, and excels in both strategic thinking and tactical execution. Key job responsibilities 1. Business Strategy Implementation: - Develop a long-term business and assortment strategy for our Private Brands product portfolio - Create an own a comprehensive business roadmap, identifying and analyzing opportunities for growth, cost savings, margin improvements, and customer experience 2. P&L and Business Performance: - Drive key business metrics (sales, profit margins, supplier performance) - Prepare and present comprehensive business reviews (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to senior leadership - Identify and lead strategic initiatives to drive portfolio performance and customer experience - Coordinate and influence teams including Finance, Product Development, Supply Chain, Category Management, and Innovation Product Management - Ensure alignment with our overall business objectives and Amazon's quality and financial standards 3. Supplier Relationship and Cost Management: - Own end-to-end supplier management processes for your assigned categories - Lead negotiations with key suppliers to secure optimal terms - Manage risks and resolve issues in supplier relationships - Drive cost-saving strategies in partnership with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain 4. As a Product Manager, Innovation, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth launch and operation of our private brand products, driving growth and success of our Private Brands organization. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related - 3+ years of experience in product management, supplier management, category management, finance, or related roles, preferably in e-commerce or consumer goods - Experience with data analysis and financial modeling - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications - Experience in the food and grocery industry - Proficiency in SQL and Excel; familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) - Familiarity with Amazon's leadership principles and operational processes - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment - Experience with supplier management and contract negotiations Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
