Product Innovation Intern - Hybrid

This is a hybrid role. You need to live within driving distance of our Costa Mesa or Los Angeles offices to attend meetings and work with the team. The position is for six months, 20 hours per week.

As an Intern on the Futures Team – Emerging & Beyond, you’ll help shape AAA’s next generation of products and services. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-potential concepts that address long-term trends and emerging market opportunities. You’ll collaborate across teams to bring future-focused ideas to life and gain hands-on experience in product innovation. 

What You Will Do: 

Support the development and execution of strategies for future Membership, Insurance, Travel, and new category products. 

Contribute to competitive research, market analysis, trend mapping, and scenario planning to inform opportunity areas. 

Assist in ideation, validation, and early-stage concept development, ensuring alignment with long-term goals. 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and help create materials for distribution, including Futures insights and trend reports. 

 

What You Will Bring: 

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (rising junior or senior preferred) in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Technology, Economics, Innovation, Human-Centered Design). 

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. 

Effective communicator and collaborator, comfortable working with diverse teams. 

Passion for innovation, emerging technologies, and future trends. 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with collaborative tools (e.g., Miro, Figma, Adobe Suite) and strategic frameworks (e.g., STEEP, Scenario Planning) is a plus. 

Curiosity, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
