Product Engineering Lead

The Opportunity:

Liebherr Australia is seeking a Product Engineering Lead to take charge of ensuring that developed products meet the required cost targets, technical specifications, and that projects are completed within the projected timelines.

The Product Engineering Lead must work with cross-functional teams and departments involving core team members for important project decisions and actions. This role is responsible for the provision of effective coordination and support the implementation and testing of electrical, electromechanical, hydraulic, and drive systems. The role responsibility for the local group that researches and analyses state of the art technologies and current system performance to propose and develop system specifications and schematics.

Responsibilities include: Provide effective leadership, management and coordination of the Power System Integration Team Establish and maintain strong relationships with Key Stakeholders, Joint Venture Partners and Customers Research and development of the overall architecture of hydraulic, electrical, and drive related systems of 100t + off-highway mining trucks. Effective coordination and supporting the implementation and testing of electrical, electromechanical, hydraulic, and drive systems. Design systems and controls; specifies equipment and components for systems, including, but are not limited to low and high voltage electrical, hydraulic, and the various supporting subsystems. Research and analyse customer design proposals, truck performance data, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application. Develop applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new products and improvement of existing products. You'll be great in this role because:

Skills and qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline (BSEE, BSME, etc..) 8-10 years working experience in the design and development of heavy industrial equipment A minimum of 2 years’ effectively leading and managing a team of engineers Experience with 100+ ton Off Highway Trucks OHT (Desirable) Flexibility to travel extensively to customer sites and internationally Commitment to maintain, and adhere to safety guidelines in the workplace Establishing and sustaining robust and effective long term relationships
