Product Engineer (Software) (Hybrid)

Your role in the team

We design and develop cutting-edge security products and solutions across all security domains to control testing and assessment platforms, and AI-powered applications that help Allstate create secure products

Key Responsibilities  

Demonstrate technical skills and aptitude needed to meet/exceed delivery velocity expectations as a full stack developer  

Actively learn different technologies as needed for delivery of stories  

Adhere to Allstate best practices (for example, pair programming and test-driven development) and hold others accountable for the same  

Deliver on all phases of development work from initial kick-off, technical setup, application development, and support 

Active participation in regular agile meetings (e.g., site standup, product team standup, iteration planning meeting, retrospective, lunch & learns)  

Provide meaningful/thoughtful feedback on others as requested through code reviews  

If there is bench time, leverage it to work on any assigned projects and/or for self-study to advance technical skills  

Embrace an organization model that is self-directed / self-managed as a team and as individuals  

Essential Skills

3+ years of experience In Java & JavaScript development 

2+ Years of experience with Spring Framework, ReactJS, and Intellij-IDE  

Exposure to tools like GitHub for version control 

Solid understanding of SQL Server Databases & Cypress  

Comfortable working in Agile environments (Agile XP), with familiarity in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and collaborative coding practices. 

Desirable Skills 

Security specific training (related to Secure coding and Security +) 

Knowledge of Jenkins & nodeJS  

Knowledge of NIST framework and how controls work.
