Product engineer Office
Responsibilities:
Position Summary
The Product Engineer is responsible for the development and engineering of new products and the improvement of existing ones, ensuring that they meet design intent, manufacturability, sustainability, and cost targets. Working cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality teams, the Product Engineer plays a critical role in translating concepts into commercially successful and technically sound solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Support the end-to-end product development process, from concept feasibility through to production launch.Translate design concepts into engineering solutions using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent).Collaborate with industrial designers to ensure aesthetic and functional integrity is maintained.Develop and validate prototypes through testing, analysis, and iteration.Ensure all engineering documentation is accurate and complete (BOMs, drawings, specifications).Partner with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure efficient, high-quality, and sustainable production processes.Evaluate and optimize materials, costs, and manufacturing methods.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for current product lines.Stay current with trends in materials, production technologies, and design-for-sustainability.Skill and competences required:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in product engineering, ideally within the furniture, consumer goods, or industrial design sector.
Proficient in 3D CAD software and familiarity with PLM systems.
Solid understanding of materials (metal, plastic, wood, textiles) and manufacturing processes (injection molding, machining, welding, etc.).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Passion for design, innovation, and sustainability.
