Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB’s success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.

This role is contributing to the Motion Business for System Drive Division in Nelamangala - Bangalore India

You will be mainly accountable for:

Full technical ownership of the product. Should take ownership of the product with respect to all technical issues, coordinate with the product manager for any known issue and plan for the action to resolve the same.Any failure needs to be analyzed for the reason for failure. A detailed report should be created for the same, the analysis should be done up to the level of the circuit component. Work involves direct coordination with the global support team for any further analysis.Knowledge of IEC, UL and CE standards Root cause analysis needs to be created for every failure and update the same in the global failure data.Need to monitor the failure rate of the owned product, warranty details need to be checked to understand the failure. The failure rate of the product needs to be monitored using the warranty data. Any major concern should be discussed with the team lead and reporting manager. Weekly meeting with service for the failure cases for further investigation.Technical ownership of all localization activities. Evaluation of the local material supplied by local suppliers with global products. This needs to be evaluated against the global guidelines. The testing of the local component and report for the same should be made available.R&D laboratory: Analysis lab should be kept with high safety standards and all equipment calibration and maintenance of the same

Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)Skill Set: PCB analysis, Variable frequency drive KnowledgeQualification: BE – Electrical and Electronics or electronics and communication or M-tech – Power electronics or Control system or DrivesYear of experience: 3-6 years for BE, 2-4 years with M-Tech
