Emerson is currently seeking a Product Engineer in Marshalltown, IA. The individual selected for this role will be responsible for design and technical support of products used in general, critical and severe service customer applications. This includes supporting and reviewing modifications to the design of assigned products for the fulfillment of customer orders, addressing manufacturing concerns, and/or addressing field performance issues as experienced through the life of the product.
You will be working in a team-based, collaborative global organization supporting sales, marketing, manufacturing, new product development, simulation, and others.
Additionally, this role will be responsible for short-term projects for cost reductions, product portfolio extension/improvements and supply chain risk mitigation.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Provide technical support via direct communication to Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing. Lead and support product-related projects to achieve company and customer goals. Design and review modifications to products for customer orders Review and approve changes to and creation of product documentation Assist Sales Engineers with selection of appropriate products for different applications Ensure proper upkeep and maintenance of revision controlled technical documents Be accountable for the development, coordination, and maintenance of the company’s engineering controlled documents as they relate to the designated product lines Provide engineering support for Field Service Requests for installed products Support manufacturing with design related machining and assembly issues.Who You Are:

For This Role, You Will Need
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (specifically one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Materials, Industrial, Chemical, or Aerospace) or in the absence of a degree, equivalent experience Understanding of engineering principles Ability to work independently, resolve technical and manufacturing issues without detailed direction, and work as part of a team Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills Working knowledge of computer tools in particular those related to the design and technical drawing (basic CAD, Solidworks) and of Microsoft Office ToolsPreferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
2+ years of engineering experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, product evaluation/testing, or other relevant experience. Capability to accurately and efficiently work on multiple projects. Strong analytic work methodology and problem-solving skills Ability to proactively identify and resolve engineering and manufacturing related issues and understand machine shop and foundry practices Demonstrate a capability of working within a matrix organization on a global level.
