Here, you will make an impact by: + Developing and advancing film processing and material technologies + Supporting product development and scaleup + Developing and implementing experiment plans + Providing hands on process troubleshooting + Working closely with functional experts in the film lab + Collaborating seamlessly with personnel in plants, divisions, and other internal and external resources as needed to accomplish objectives + Providing coverage for film experiments that may occur during nights, weekends, and holidays + Leading or participating in cross functional new technology introduction teams + Other duties as assigned **Your Skills and Expertise** To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Physics, and/or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: + Master’s or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Physics, or a related field (completed and verified prior to start) + One (1) year combined laboratory, manufacturing, pilot plant, and/or production environment experience in a private, public, government or military environment + Background in multilayer extrusion process + Experience with code development for data analysis and machine interface (i.e., C++, C#, MATLAB, Python) + Experience in film process development, materials development, and optics + Capable of providing hands on process troubleshooting + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills + Experience in leading projects + Work location: + Job is lab-based, and expectation is work onsite (Maplewood, MN) **Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international** **Relocation Assistance: May be authorized** **Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).** **Supporting Your Well-being** 3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
