Product Development Coordinator
Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Product Development Coordinator to support the execution of new product initiatives from concept to launch. This role involves close collaboration with design, sourcing, buying, and quality teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, communicates effectively, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Duties & Responsibilities + Create and update the PD project management tool to communicate timelines for PD, packaging team, buyers and overseas vendors + Interact directly with the sourcing team and guide them to drive progress during the development and production process + Request quotes and samples for developed programs. + Support product costing, RFQs, and price analysis + Coordinate, log, and manage the sample approval process + Participate in weekly sample and packaging meeting with buyers and product development + Prepare workflow for package designers, guide them through the creation of the packaging artwork. + Responsible for customer service-related issues and tracking supplier performance + Collaborate with Asia Sourcing team and South Africa graphics team to create and maintain product specifications + Gather product trend information and share with team members + Requires participation in bi-weekly evening meetings with international teams across time zones Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + Proven import project management and sourcing experience + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills + Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and adherence to deadlines + Works well and thrives in a team environment as well as independently + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment + Adept at building effective business relationships + Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines + Bonus: Mandarin Chinese language proficiency for communication with overseas team + Basic knowledge of manufacturing timelines and product lifecycle + Bonus: Familiarity with Adobe Creative tools such as Illustrator or Photoshop Qualifications + Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience within hardlines, consumer products related industries (retail, wholesale, and/or grocery channel + Bachelor's degree required + Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and basic project management tools + Strong verbal and written communication skills in English + High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities What We Offer + Exposure to international product development processes + A collaborative and creative team environment + Professional growth opportunities in a global sourcing organization + Competitive compensation and benefits
