Product Designer - NX CAD
Job Description An Insight Global customer is immediately hiring a Product Designer for their manufacturing facility in Wyoming, MI. This position is for the ongoing engineering and design of advanced technologies supporting the Grand Rapids Advanced Product Engineering group through the entire lifecycle of the part including concept, design, release, and engineering changes after release. • The Designer shall have the following responsibilities: - Completion of all assigned work activities in a timely manner while achieving a high level of quality. - Completion of all assigned work in accordance with GMCH design standards. - Active participation in Product team meetings, design review meetings, gate review meetings, etc. that support the group and technologies being developed. - Design and engineering collaboration with other team members and other engineering groups as required. Compensation Range: $35/hr to $40/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Skills and Requirements • Strong mechanical background. • Strong knowledge of propulsion systems including internal combustion engines, particularly valvetrain systems and dynamics, diesel engines, and electric motor drive units. • Strong knowledge of Design for Manufacturability. • Independent thinker: must be creative and understand the subject matter (how the product works in the application, etc.) • Must be able to conceptualize new technology, design new technology, and support the design throughout the entire lifecycle of the product: Conceptual design → 3D modeling → 2D drawing creation → Tolerance Stacks → Creating mechanical drawings & applying appropriate GD&T and tolerancing to the drawings → Design revisions supporting continuous improvement activities throughout the life of the product. • Must be proficient with NX CAD software: creating and editing both 3D parametric models and 2D drawings. • Must be proficient using Teamcenter: creating new parts, assemblies, drawings, revising existing models and drawings, NX integration, BOMs, etc. • Must have a strong background in GD&T. • Must have a strong background in gage design. • Must be able to produce tolerance stack-ups to support the Advanced Engineering design process. • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with good organization skills. • Experience using SolidWorks CAD software: creating and editing both 3D parametric models and 2D drawings to support cross-functional roles when required within the Advanced Engineering group. • Experience using CREO CAD software to support non-GM customers. • Experience with fixture, machine, and gage design to support cross-functional roles as required within the Advanced Engineering group. • Must be able to work independently and responsibly offsite while still maintaining active collaboration with other designers and engineers. null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
