Product Designer
A Product Designer is responsible for designing and enhancing user interfaces and experiences with a high degree of independence. This role emphasizes Human-Centered Design (HCD) methodology to ensure that user needs are at the forefront of the design process. The Product Designer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive and user-centric designs that align with business goals.
Your Tasks & Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
Independently design and develop user interfaces and experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and accessible Design components for larger systems and ensure consistency across productsUtilize design standards and best practices for the Platform or Division based on guidance from the Distinguished Designer and Principal & Lead Designers
Human-Centered Design:
Apply HCD principles to deeply understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points through comprehensive research and user testingConduct user experience analysis and integrate findings into design solutions.
Prototyping and Testing:
Create low, medium and high-fidelity prototypes and conduct usability testing to iterate on designs based on user feedbackUtilize rapid and advanced prototyping techniques to demonstrate design concepts and validate solutions
Collaboration:
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other designers to deliver cohesive and user-centric designs promoting consistency in components and reusability of components where possible Proactively communicate and collaborate with product users and stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure alignment
Learning and Growth:
Continuously enhance design skills and stay updated with the latest design tools and methodologies including exploring opportunities to use AI to streamline design processesWork to understand the business unit and processes associated with the digital productApply modern design standards and best practices to all projects
Product Strategy:
Contribute to setting the design strategy for the product to ensure the customer and their needs are at the center, the solutions are feasible, and they are a good value / fit for businessWork on the design backlog to achieve the product vision and aligned strategy
Product Discovery & Delivery:
Create comprehensive design artifacts to clarify user needs and requirementsMonitor user feedback and metrics and present to stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and deliver more business value
Design Support:
Lead design iterations following user research findings and prioritize improvements.Work closely with Developers to provide what they may need to develop solutions to design specifications
Workshop Facilitation:
Participate in Design Workshops: Assist in facilitating design workshops to support team collaboration and co-creation
Qualifications & Competencies:
Knowledge of front-end development basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)Analytical skills and attention to detailExperience with accessibility standardsExperience with Chromatic or Storybook Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git)Creativity, continuous learning, and an experimental mindsetExperience with rapid and advanced prototyping techniquesProven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional
