As a Product Design Engineer, you will take a critical role in developing hardware systems for MR, AR, or New Technology Initiatives. You will become part of a team exploring developing concepts through prototyping and into mass-production consumer electronics. You will work as part of a cross functional team requiring collaboration and curiosity in domains other than mechanical engineering. Our team supports mechanical engineering fundamentals, prototyping skills, CAD fluency, manufacturing process knowledge, and experience designing consumer electronics. **Required Skills:** Product Design Engineer Responsibilities: 1. Model, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems 2. Work across the full product development cycle, from concept inception to shipping product 3. Push state-of-the-art technologies and approaches to solving complex mechanical problems while working with cross-functional technical teams 4. Design for manufacturability: ensure the design is robust, and the equipment, process, and materials are scalable to ramp 5. Collaborate with internal cross functional teams and external industry partners **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 6. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience 7. 2+ years of experience of hands-on product design and development experience in high volume consumer electronics, including complex subsystems and/or full systems ownership 8. Demonstrated mechanical engineering fundamentals, prototyping skills, 3D/2D drawing skill 9. Experience working with manufacturers on process and equipment development for optical assembly 10. Testing and analysis experience (TA, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design of Experiments, etc.) 11. Experience in material properties, such as plastics, metal, adhesive, and glass plus high-volume manufacturing techniques (stamping, machining, 3D printing, injection molding, etc **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Qualifications: 12. Experience performing and designing Design of Experiments (DOEs), tolerance analysis, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), data analysis, Statistical Process Control (SPC) control, Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R), root cause investigation, failure analysis, implement corrective action 13. Experience with NX CAD Experience designing and shipping products with Asia-based supply chains 14. Experience on cell phone, VR, Laptop design, or other complex consumer electronics products design 15.
