Product Consultant - BCP CORE

Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. **Job Description:** As the BCP CORE (910-938 Small Wheel Loader, Backhoe Loader, Small Track Type Tractor) Product Consultant supporting the ANZP region, you will provide product and application expertise to the regional field sales rep teams and dealers to support prime product and work tool sales execution and alignment (i.e. right sizing buckets). You will also provide significant support to the Product Group and New Product Introduction (NPI) Managers during various NPI phases in terms of voice of the customer collection/communication, development of functional specifications and critical customer requirements. You will also be very engaged in competitive tests and analysis. **Role Summary:** Responsible for applying decisions to support and develop product sales, dealer effectiveness, overall segment growth, NPI process, process improvement, sales management process improvement, etc. You will apply your knowledge of products, technology, industry, etc., in support of Caterpillar, dealer and customer expectations and needs and contribute to strategic planning. **What You’ll Do:** + Support sales execution and providing product and application expertise to the global field sales rep teams and dealers to support prime product and work tool sales execution and improved value proposition. + Responsible for developing and delivering product and application training to field reps, dealers & customers. + Identify, manage and provide reports on competitive performance studies, feature/benefit comparisons and maintenance and repair cost analysis. + Provide significant input to SWL (910-938) Product Group and NPI team(s) for next generation product development activities. + Provide significant input to STTT Product Group and NPI team(s) for next generation product development activities. + Provide significant input to BHL Product Group and NPI team(s) for next generation product development activities. + Assist in defining and placing value on new product features, functional and technical specifications, and general product requirements. + Provide BHL/SWL/STTT Product Group with industry-specific trends based on customers’ operational data and benchmarking. + Respond and/or action dealer requests and product queries in a timely manner. + Support in territory trade shows, being the face of Caterpillar representing BCP CORE Products. + You will be responsible for arranging transportation for all BCP CORE products in relation to Expos, Training and competitive rental machines. + You will manage the BCP CORE Loan account where applicable for regional requirements, assuring new machines are ordered and correctly configured as well as managing the sale and disposal of existing units **What You Have (Core Skills):** + **Customer Focus:** Align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions. + **Products and Services:** Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations. + **Decision Making and Critical Thinking:** Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. + **Effective Communications:** Develops a cooperative work relationship with others inside the department and especially field sales organizations, dealers and customers + **Technical Excellence:** Able to clearly demonstrate the ability to understand and articulate technical machine performance and application knowledge that allows you to be regarded as an "expert" in product applications + **Value Selling:** Ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs. **Top Candidates Will Also Have** + Bachelor’s degree. + Job-related experience within an engineering, product group, industry, product marketing or sales support background. + A broad knowledge and understanding of Caterpillar products, commercial strategies, dealer operations and capabilities. + Language skills will be a bonus. + Experience interacting with Caterpillar’s dealer network either in an industry or product support capacity. **Additional Details:** Up to 30% travel will be expected for this role (domestic and international) **Compensation & Benefits:** Competitive salary based on degree and professional industry working experience.
