Product Configuration Engineer

The Product Configuration (SW) Engineer will lead the development, enhancement, migration, and maintenance of software databases, tools, and utilities supporting six heat transfer product lines at our Cheektowaga manufacturing plant. The candidate should have a solid understanding of product design selection rulesets for various features and options. Ideally, they will have a strong background in thermal systems, fluid dynamics, and mechanical engineering. The Product Configuration Engineer will work with innovative thermal technologies and sustainable solutions. We offer a full benefits package to include Flexible Time Off (FTO) for salaried positions, health, dental, vision, investment savings plan, and additional miscellaneous benefits. **CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:** To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. + Wants to create engineering tools and systems to enable efficiency in the design and manufacturing of heat exchangers. + Willing to learn from and teach colleagues about advanced topics. + Improve & modernize legacy applications for integration with future systems being developed. + Team player who excels working in-person and connecting with remote partners. + Develop and maintain product configuration software tools and databases. + Migrate legacy software platforms to modern IT environments. + Analyze and extract data from older systems to support upgrades. + Understand and apply product design and selection rulesets for various features and options. + Dynamic individual able to quickly learn products to modernize legacy systems and align with state-of-the-art platforms. + Write and adapt code in a fast-paced, agile development environment. + Has excellent written and verbal communication skills + Ability to manage goals and support OTD and quality of engineering output to ensure deliverables meet all specification and regulatory requirements. + Willing to present at technical reviews or submit papers based on work. + Support complex product design challenges and deliver effective solutions. + Has strong customer focus. + Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based upon organizational needs. **QUALIFICATIONS** : + Requires a B.S. degree from an accredited University inMechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Computer Science or related field. + Experience developing software solutions at a professional level. + Experience working collaboratively within a team environment of engineers to meet aggressive goals and high-quality standards. + Proficient knowledge of and experience working with product configuration logic and engineering principles. + Experience with software development, database management, and system integration. + Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer principles, and fluid mechanics. + Competence with CAD tools, thermal simulation software, and CRM systems. + Excellent ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and performance data. + Perform on an expert level with computer science topics such as data structures and algorithms. + U.S. Citizenship Required. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project, MS Visio. **DAY IN THE LIFE** **:** In this role, the working environment is typical office and manufacturing floor environment.
