Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Duties

Work with newscast directors, creative, promotion and news staff to coordinate production of the newscastConceptualize stories with story producers, reporters, and talentCritique production, writing and editing of news storiesProduce newscasts and other broadcast content in an automated production control environment for all platformsWork with the production team to ensure smooth and seamless productionsWork with News Managers and Producers to ensure the most complete local news coverage Work with digital team to incorporate social/mobile/digital content on all platformsProduce linear and digital newscastsEdit news content using non-linear editing equipmentManage the newscast story producersEnsure fairness, accuracy and balance in stories

A minimum of 2 years of experience as broadcast ProducerMinimum 3 years of experience writing, producing and desktop editingAt least 1 year prior news editing experienceDemonstrated knowledge of AP style writing and guidelines Bilingual (English/Spanish) both written and verbalBachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or equivalent work experienceMust be willing to work in Washington, D.C.Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United StatesMust be 18 years or olderBe available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV on www.nbcunicareers.com to be considered
