We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist!
Essential duties and responsibilities for the Procurement Specialist include, but are not limited to:
Create purchase orders in Client or S&L’s internal vendor management systemsTrack material orders, deliveries in vendor management systems.Expedite suppliers / subcontractors / engineering input, as appropriateCoordinate and work closely with engineering project managers, suppliers, contractors, subcontractors and client personnelManage and administer the subcontract life cycle process for assigned projectsSupport S&L clients in their procurement processesAssist in evaluation of proposals from suppliers / subcontractorsPerform risk assessments on potential and existing subcontractsMonitor and evaluate contract performanceRecord keeping / document control with audit involvementProcessing vendor invoices for payment
This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with the expectation of 3 days in our downtown Chicago office and 2 days working remotely from home.
QualificationsEssential skills and experience:
Bachelor's Degree Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement and/or contract administrationStrong written, verbal, & people communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with project managers, engineers, clients, suppliers and contractors as necessaryMS Office Suite proficiencyValued but not required skills and experience:
Power industry experience supporting large power generation, substation or transmission line projectsCPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) and/or C.P.M (Certified Purchasing Manager) designationExperience with Deltek Costpoint and MS OutlookWe do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.
