Procurement Specialist III

GENERAL DESCRIPTION\n\nExamines and analyzes departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information.\n\n

DUTIES\n\nCreates purchase orders for the acquisition of materials.\nDetermines method to process requisition based on dollar amount, timeliness required, existing open contracts, and\/or competitive bidding.\nResearches, interviews and negotiates with vendors to obtain prices and specifications.\nCreates and Maintains Long Term Agreements (LTA) with vendors.\nA wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.\nUses knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures related to vendor sourcing\nPerform and maintain activities required for DCAA\/DCMA audits\nWorks with Bills of Materials and Drawings\nWorks with Program Mangers and Engineers to resolve material issues on programs.\nMaintain existing supplier relationships and initiate potential new supplier relationships.\nSchedule and conduct supplier meetings \nCommunicate performance expectations and feedback to suppliers\nInteracts with and provides expert advice and guidance to PM's and Proposal team \nParticipates on cross functional teams to identify, develop, document and implement strategies, processes and system improvements in support of company goals \nConsults with management regarding company, industry and procurement best practices\nLead training of new team members and assist in hiring decisions\nProvide constructive feedback to team members \nInitiates improvements to streamline process flows\nHandles additional requests aside of procurement queue \nCovers teammate's desk in their absence \nAttends production\/ project meetings and MRB meetings, as needed\nResolves issues with Purchase Orders, Deliveries and RFPs.\nMaintains PO CPSR files.\nWorks in a team environment\nRequired to work with little supervision\nGenerate Open Status\/Expedite report, work late deliveries and enter expedite notes into Cost Point\nOther duties as assigned. \n\n

EDUCATION\/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS\n\nBachelor's degree preferred. Experience may be substituted for education\n8 years minimum experience in the field or a related area\nExperience with Deltek CostPoint required.\nKnowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.\nSkill in preparing and analyzing complex technical specifications and bids.\nSkill in both verbal and written communication.\nSharePoint experience required.\nStrong negotiations skills are required.\nWe maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.\n\n
