Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Job Description

The primary role of the procurement specialist is to process purchasing transactions and maintain inventories of materials, equipment, supplies, and products. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of plant maintenance and optimizing workflow.

ResponsibilitiesManage requisition traffic by creating purchase orders and managing workload based on daily business priorities, optimizing workflow in accordance with established purchasing policies and procedures to support plant maintenance and operations.Prepare and review purchase requisitions and orders as required.Assist the Warehouse Coordinator in managing inventory levels for facilities, monitoring inventory levels and reconciling physical inventories with records.Arrange support services such as crane and transportation.Source price quotations and prepare purchase requisitions/orders to ensure optimization of price, delivery, and terms.Purchase plant inventory items by collaborating with the warehouse coordinator and plant maintenance team.Expedite and follow up with suppliers to schedule deliveries and resolve issues related to material discrepancies, overdue deliveries, warranty claims, damage, and return of materials.Review invoices to resolve disputes and send for appropriate approval, matching purchase requisitions/orders with invoices, and forwarding them to accounts for payment processing.Participate in the annual inventory audit and assist in creating and maintaining inventory lists.Support plant maintenance through contractor orientations, training, and good housekeeping practices, providing guidance to the Field Office Administrator.Essential SkillsBasic understanding of material ordering and contractor mobilization.0-2 years of supply chain experience.Basic understanding of contract and inventory management.Basic understanding of maintenance and turnaround planning and execution.High attention to detail.Flexibility when workload exceeds optimal staffing needs.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsSupply chain certification or contract administration certification preferred.Vocational technical or business diploma required.High school diploma or GED.Experience using standard business applications such as Outlook and Excel.Preferred: Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field.Experience using Oracle.Experience purchasing for projects.Work Environment

The position is on-site at a downtown location, requiring 8 hours of work per day and 40 hours per week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
