Description We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team in Wood Dale, Illinois. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing procurement processes, ensuring vendor compliance, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. Responsibilities: • Review and evaluate vendor quotes to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards. • Approve vendor proposals and maintain clear communication with suppliers. • Support customer updates by providing timely and accurate information regarding procurement activities. • Manage procurement functions, including purchase order creation and tracking. • Ensure adherence to government contract requirements and industry regulations. • Oversee incoming calls related to procurement activities and provide thorough assistance. • Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure smooth operations. • Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and vendor interactions. • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the procurement function. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate procurement or a similar role. • Strong understanding of purchase order processes and buying procedures. • Familiarity with government contracts and compliance standards. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. • Knowledge of logistics or supply chain management is a plus. • Proficiency in managing vendor relations and procurement documentation.
