Experience what’s next at Avnet! **Job Summary:** Negotiates, structures and/or administers contractual documents that establish business relationships with vendors and suppliers for purchasing goods and supplies, equipment, services, systems, software or technical equipment for internal company use. Negotiates favorable terms and volume discounts that comply with company policies and procedures, legal requirements and/or other specifications. **Principal Responsibilities:** + Gains full understanding of purchasing requirements to achieve internal department’s desired outcomes for service and cost. + Prepares all aspects of procurement solicitations for formally advertised or negotiated procedures which includes terms and conditions, scope of work, insurance and bonding requirements. + Oversees and conducts bid openings and evaluates bids and proposals to determine responsive low bid. Recommends selection in accordance with established criteria. + Develops, maintains and updates full competition and documentation of action (maintains list of who is bidding on the contract). Issues award letters, contracts or purchase orders. + Coordinates with a variety of department representatives, legal, and others as required during all stages of negotiation and contract processes to resolve problems and issues. + Negotiates with suppliers establishing price, delivery, quantity, payment, scope of work, change orders, etc.. + Researches sources of supply. Identifies and evaluates sole source validity and methods of procurement action. + Provides administrative oversight during contract performance. Works with internal and external departments/representatives. Initiates corrective action where suppliers are not performing to expectation. + Reviews and approves requisitions (up to assigned authorized amount) to validate documentation complies with internal audit requirements and defined policies and procedures. + Other duties as assigned. **Job Level Specifications:** + Extensive knowledge and application of principles, theories and concepts. Complete knowledge of all job functions and the broad industry best practices, techniques and standards. + Develops solutions to complex problems where analysis of situations and/or data requires in-depth evaluation of variables. Determine best approach to achieve results and provide suggestions to improve policies and procedures. + Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Work may be reviewed at a high-level. + May represent the organization as a primary contact on assignments and/or projects. Interacts with senior professionals and management and frequently coordinates work between departments or organizations. + Actions may impact the organization. Failure to accomplish work will result in the inability to reach crucial organizational goals. Erroneous decisions may have a prolonged effect resulting in the expenditure of substantial resources. **Work Experience:** + Typically 5+ years with bachelor's or equivalent. **Education and Certification(s):** + Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained. \#LI-Hybird **What We Offer:** Our employees work hard to live our values and help us grow.
