Procurement/Production Planning Specialist

You’ll work alongside Engineering, Quality, and Production personnel and partner with professionals across multiple departments. As a member of the Heat Transfer & Energy Solutions group Quality team, you will be responsible for providing services and support to internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure materials, processes and products meet or exceed specifications. This position is based at our Duquesne, PA location. **How will you make a difference?** As a member of Wabtec Components LLC, Thermal Transfer Group, you will utilize your procurement and production planning experience to solve problems and develop solutions to positively impact short-term and long-term business goals. This position will be responsible for all procurement and production planning tasks including providing integral support for AR, AP, and financial reporting functions. This position will focus on procurement and planning but provide well-rounded and flexible business support to support a successful production line. This position is responsible for the sourcing and maintaining of raw materials, finished goods, equipment and supplies. Develop and meet goals for cost management, supplier management including supplier diversity, and process improvements. Coordination of efforts among all levels of personnel including but not limited to sales, quality, engineering, and management. **What do we want to know about you?** + BS: Business, purchasing, supply chain management or a related field and 3-5 years purchasing and/or supply chain experience or equivalent combination of education and experience + Purchasing Certification or CPM and/or CPM as issued by the Institute of Supply Management is a plus + ERP experience required. SAP Business One experience highly preferred + Understanding of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing concepts, and production schedules + Working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and internal controls as it relates to purchasing and sourcing + Ability to adapt and flex in a dynamic environment + Ability to get things done and challenge the status quo. Entrepreneurial spirit. + Excellent time management & prioritization skills. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) + Excellent verbal and written communication/language skills required to include the ability to provide written and verbal instructions, compile and present business reports/correspondence, and present information clearly. + Capable of planning and organizing work and processes; ability to self-direct multiple projects and meet deadlines. + Analytical and reasoning ability, math skills, and good judgment for critical business decisions + Ability to cooperate and interpersonal skills to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. + Motivation to provide excellent internal and external customer service + Proficiency with production and inventory control systems + The ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and technical specifications **What will your typical day look like?** + Coordinate with management to ensure delivery of products to customers and customer order requirements. + Review sales orders and coordinate material purchases + Plan and coordinate material requirements and releases work orders to manufacturing. + Evaluate inventory transactions to ensure accuracy. Generate reports and verify inventory levels and accuracy. + Ensure and assist with coordination of daily shop activities + Assist with the annual physical inventory audit. Develop and coordinate a regular cycle count program + Support accounts payable and accounts receivable; create invoices, track purchase orders and support financial closing for a focused product line + Coordinate, tag and identify material to be shipped by picking materials and communicating needs + Interpret customer forecasts, plan inventory levels and internal work orders accordingly + Research and evaluate suppliers based on capabilities, price, quality, and delivery performance + Prepare purchase orders and reviews requisitions for goods and services ensuring conformance within company policy + Maintain close contact with operations, quality, customer service and engineering in order to maintain the most effective inventory control + Resolve supplier quality, pricing, and delivery issues promptly + 10% percent travel or as needed You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary. The salary range for this role is between $77,400.00-$110,300.00 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
