The Opportunity:
Avantor is seeking a Procurement Manager to be responsible for the development and implementation of purchasing/procurement/sourcing policies and administration of all purchasing activities. Purchasing activities will include: selecting sources of supply, approving purchase orders, managing relationships with suppliers, and negotiating terms of contracts.
This role will be a full-time position that can be based out of our Carpinteria, CA or Bakersfield, CA offices. Must have ability to travel up to 20% (as needed) between these offices.
As part of the Global Planning Team, the Procurement Manager will have the opportunity to oversee the operational procurement for our vendors and manage a large team within a complex department.
What we're looking for:
Education: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, chemical/technical or related field. Experience: 8+ Years of related Supply Chain experience; 3 years leadership experience. Contract Negotiation experience. Global Supply Chain, Cost Reduction and Supply Chain Trouble shooting/Problem Solving experience desired. Experience in a regulated/complex chemical manufacturing environment preferred. Certification(s): APICS/CPIM certification desirable. Additional Qualifications: Ability to be a servant leader. Understanding of forecast and replenishment theory. Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in MS office suite (Excel, Access, Word). Expert knowledge and practical use of Forecasting and Inventory Planning tools; i.e. Logility, SAP, or equivalent.

Pay Transparency:
The expected pre-tax pay for this position is
$112,400.00 - $187,400.00Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
