About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation:

The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s power grid!

The Knightdale facility will deliver integrated electrical skid assemblies that combine power distribution and power conversion equipment with protection and automation systems. Electrical skids provide outdoor rated, modular, value-add solutions for key vertical markets to improve delivery reliability and lower total cost of ownership for customers.

We are looking for a Procurement Manager. This position will be based in Knightdale, NC. Relocation cost assistance is available.

Position Overview:

We are excited to be adding to our Procurement leadership team. The manager directs, trains, develops strategy, supervises and mentors the Procurement Engineering and Supply Planning team.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for Procurement Engineering and Supply Planning team. New Product Introduction (NPI): Oversee the procurement aspects of new product introductions, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials. Actively contribute to the product development on-time and within cost target. Cost Analysis & Value Engineering: Establish transparency in cost and value of supplied components and contribute by improvement proposals to support PLM in Target Costing, R&D in Design to Value. Cost Improvement Initiatives: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in the procurement process without compromising quality. Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and availability of materials. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Business Excellence, Engineering, Production, and Finance teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives. Regionalization: Identify potential risks in the supply chain, develop mitigation strategies & implement. Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Quality Assurance: Work closely with the Supplier quality team to ensure purchased materials meet the necessary quality metrics. Capacity Planning: Perform supply chain capacity planning, identify bottlenecks and manage supplier capacity development along with commodity team.

Key Competencies:

Strategic Planning: Ability to assist in development and responsible for implementing long-term procurement strategies. Cost Analysis: Expertise in conducting cost analyses and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Supplier Audits: Conducting supplier audits and performance evaluations to ensure quality and reliability. Process Optimization: Continuously improving procurement processes for better efficiency. Project Management: Managing projects related to new product introduction and cost improvement. Technical Liaison: Serve as the point of contact between engineering departments and suppliers to clarify technical specifications or resolve issues. Fundamental knowledge and working experience in supply chain planning, including industry best practices of Supply Planning, Production Scheduling, and Inventory Planning. Practical experience and hands-on responsibility utilizing data analytics.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred. Proven experience in procurement, particularly in new product introduction and cost improvement initiatives. 8-10 years of experience of working in Vendor Development, Supplier Quality and Value Engineering. Leadership and team management capabilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Proficiency in procurement software and tools. Understanding of financial principles related to procurement. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) are advantageous.

The pay range for this position is $100,450 - $172,200 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
