Procurement Manager
Job Description

The role of Procurement Category Manager involves leading procurement activities within the Long Lead Equipment Procurement Team. You will be responsible for planning, delegating, and coordinating procurement tasks across various construction projects, with a focus on tracking key milestones, procuring equipment, and managing change orders to ensure smooth handoffs between internal teams and stakeholders.

ResponsibilitiesManage key sourcing activities for business projects ensuring timely delivery and budgeting with appropriate risk management.Solicit and review supplier bids, assessing price, selection, service support, availability, and other relevant factors.Drive the creation and management of change orders utilizing ERP and PBI tools for assigned suppliers/equipment categories.Act as the commercial Subject Matter Expert and prescribe appropriate entitlement and justification for all change orders.Coordinate projects, manage milestones, track project updates and specific requirements.Instruct stakeholders on resolving issues related to undelivered goods.Review and execute category strategy plans or sourcing pipelines.Collaborate with management, design engineers, cost managers, and site execution teams to discuss project specifications and procedures.Oversee supplier performance, interface cross-functionally with internal and external partners to proactively resolve issues.Manage technical risk management of design including timelines, SLA/KPIs to ensure site timelines.Serve as the contact point between suppliers and internal teams to execute complex post-award alignment.Essential SkillsStrong verbal and written communication skills.Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.Knowledge of construction management, procurement management, and strong project management skills.Analytical and decision-making skills with process development and implementation experience.Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio.Experience in Ariba and/or supplier/contract management systems.Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.Experience in construction management or supply chain management.7-10 years of direct experience in procurement or purchasing.Demonstrated ERP experience with SAP Ariba.Experience with mechanical/electrical industrial gear.Ability to manage ambiguous situations and focus effectively.Work Environment

The role is based in a hybrid environment located at Redmond, WA. The work setting is fast-paced, requiring the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously. The role involves navigating ambiguity and managing change within the organization.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $72.00/hr.
