Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to lead our sourcing and supplier management activities across the Latin America region. This role will be based in São Paulo, Brazil, and serve as the key regional liaison between local operations and global procurement leadership in the U.S.
The successful candidate will oversee a multi-country team, drive complex negotiations, develop supplier capabilities, and ensure cost-effective, reliable supply of goods and services for agricultural operations. A strong leadership mindset, excellent communication skills in English, and deep knowledge of procurement within the agricultural or agribusiness industry are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead procurement operations for LATAM, overseeing category strategies, sourcing initiatives, and supplier management across multiple countries.Manage and develop a team of procurement professionals throughout the region, ensuring alignment with global objectives and local execution.Drive complex contract negotiations and supplier agreements with a focus on value creation, risk mitigation, and long-term partnerships.Lead supplier performance management, including development programs, capability assessments, and corrective action plans.Align regional procurement strategies with global business goals, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with internal policies (including SOX, HSE, and quality standards).Collaborate cross-functionally with GSO, R&D, and finance teams to ensure continuity of supply and execution of strategic priorities.Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying cost-saving opportunities and supply chain improvements.Support implementation of digital procurement tools and global sourcing systems (e.g., Ariba, SAP, or similar platforms).Represent LATAM region in global procurement forums and provide regular updates to senior U.S.-based leadership.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ethical sourcing, and supplier innovation.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Agronomy, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).Minimum of 12 years of experience in procurement, including regional leadership, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiation.Proven track record managing complex negotiations and multimillion-dollar supplier relationships.Experience in the agriculture, agribusiness, or manufacturing industry.Proven experience leading complex negotiations with third-party vendors to support external manufacturing and tolling strategies.Demonstrated ability to negotiate with large, well-established suppliers and global brands, such as seed treatment manufacturers and other key input providers.Demonstrated ability to manage and develop high-performing, multicultural teams.Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.High proficiency in English (minimum 90%) and intermediate proficiency in Spanish (minimum 50%).Availability to travel regionally and internationally as needed.Additional Competencies:
