Your role and responsibilitiesAs our Procurement Engineering Manager you will lead the interface between the Procurement and Research and Development (R&D) team. You will drive procurement knowledge (market, suppliers, external intelligence) into the development process to optimize cost, quality, and technology. Additionally you will translate R&D and Product Management requests into procurement parameters for execution. Furthermore you will lead the Supply Chain Controlling team to efficiently execute the RFQ process, to maintain procurement relevant master data, manages supplier relevant sustainability topics of the purchased componentsThe work model for the role is: #LI-HybridYou will be mainly accountable for:• Leads all procurement efforts for R&D projects, acting as the central interface between project teams, product management, and procurement divisions. Ensures effective communication and alignment across stakeholders, and drives the Gate Model process including Make vs. Buy decisions and checklist revisions.• Manages supplier relationships in collaboration with Category Managers, promotes early involvement of strategic suppliers, selects prototype and production suppliers, and ensures alignment with cost, quality, and time-to-market goals. Oversees supplier sustainability compliance (e.g., Conflict Minerals, CBAM, EUDR).• Responsible for estimating and achieving product cost and quality targets. Applies design-to-cost, manufacturability, lifecycle, and total cost of ownership analyses to optimize value chains and reduce costs throughout development, prototyping, and testing phases.• Leads the Supply Chain Controlling Team, manages the RFQ Tool and process, and maintains master data in SAP and governance tools. Supports strategic sourcing teams with RFQs, benchmarks, and analyses, and ensures sourcing concepts are implemented in production transfers
Qualifications for the roleBachelor's or higher degree in Economics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering At least 5 years of experience in strategic Sourcing Management or at least 5 years of experience in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with demonstrable experience in product development Result-oriented, possess excellent communication and analytical skills and have proven experience in stakeholder management. Ability to collaborate in a team to reach the optimal total cost of ownership Fluency in English (written and spoken), ability to communicate in German is an advantage
