Procurement Clerk - Hospital Food & Nutrition PER DIEM
**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** Per diem shifts within regular workweek, Mon- Fri dayshift **Position Purpose** Responsible for procuring all centralized food and nutrition services of the department. Assists in securing and maintaining storerooms. Assumes opening and closing responsibilities as needed to meet operational needs. Oversees and performs scheduled transportation runs for the Food & Nutrition Services department, ensuring food safety standards are followed. Flexibility in tasks is required. Monitors condition of truck, lift, cab, etc. and notifies Executive Chef as required and assists with the follow-up for needed truck repairs. **What you will do** + Complete all day to day buying activities based on established par levels and needs of the department + Assist with contacting vendors to obtain product information + Follow a procurement system based on established par levels; adjust par levels to meet needs of the department + Adhere to established receiving and storing policies/procedures to ensure quality products from vendor at quoted prices + Secure storerooms and refrigerators through proper key control and locking procedures + Collect product data or research for projects as needed + Coordinate andconduct annual inventory **Minimum Qualifications** + High School Diploma or equivalent + Procurement experience (1-2 yrs) in a foodservice organization + Valid CT drivers license (in good standing) + Basic fundamentals of a large food service, including food production, safety, and sanitation **Position Highlights and Benefits** + Per diem - must be regularly available during the day during the week **Ministry/Facility Information** Saint Francis Hospital is committed to exceeding the expectations of our patients and families by providing world-class service in a progressive, people-centered, compassionate health care environment.
