This is a one year fixed term contract

Why we need this role

The Procurement Business Partner is responsible for managing the company’s supply portfolio to ensure transparency of spending across various categories, including equipment, maintenance, civil and fibre, service delivery, operations, and professional services. This role involves generating and implementing efficient sourcing and category management strategies, as well as analyzing procurement costs and recommending methods to reduce expenditure. Specifically, the Procurement Business Partner for Operations & Engineering handles sourcing activities related to these areas, continuously appraising and improving sourcing processes by analyzing the company’s spending patterns, supplier partnerships, and exploring new opportunities.

What you will do

Typical tasks and responsibilities will include:

Managing the timely and efficient procurement of products and services, ensuring alignment with business needs and overall sourcing strategies.

Developing and refining category strategies to control costs and timelines, promote competition, ensure supply capacity, and explore supplier consolidation opportunities, in line with Group objectives.

Collaborating with internal stakeholders to align on category plans, savings targets, budget assumptions, and procurement processes, ensuring expectations are consistently met.

Managing supplier relationships by identifying profitable partners, negotiating favorable terms, and fostering inclusive, trustworthy, and diverse partnerships.

Conducting procurement cost analysis, scenario analysis, benchmarking, and identifying strategies to reduce expenditure, while monitoring shifts in supplier dynamics and applying appropriate risk mitigation techniques.

Promoting and supporting sustainable procurement practices in accordance with ISO 20400, and ensuring compliance with procurement legislation and best practices.

Leading the full tender lifecycle—from specification to contract award—and managing contract negotiations post-award, ensuring complete and accurate documentation (e.g., RFPs, scoring matrices, contracts, SoWs) is maintained in Ariba.

Resolving procurement and contractual issues in coordination with internal departments, minimizing project risks, and maintaining business continuity.

Acting as a subject matter expert on procurement policies, tools (e.g., Ariba, SAP, Fieldglass), and systems, while optimizing their use for spend control and policy enforcement.

Soliciting and evaluating competitive bids based on commercial terms, TCO, payment/currency options, and contributing to the development of new procurement processes and category-specific solutions.

Building and maintaining productive relationships with business stakeholders, providing support for ad hoc procurement needs, and contributing to strategic category planning through risk evaluation and continuous improvement.

Relationships and key contacts:

You will be working closely with the Finance Business partners, legal as well as internal stakeholders You will be in constant touch with Colt suppliers  What we're looking for

Minimum 10 years’ experience in Procurement or Sourcing Management

Proven work experience as a sourcing manager or procurement manager

Proven track record of leading large and complex RFPs, ideally within relevant categories

Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management processes and relevant software

High level of proficiency with procurement tools (e.g. Ariba, SAP, Fieldglass)

Fluent in English, plus at least one additional language (e.g. Dutch, German, Spanish)

Strong project management and leadership skills

Ability to negotiate and maintain strong networking relationships

Comfortable working with figures; skilled in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data

Solid judgment with the ability to make sound decisions

Strong understanding of market dynamics and business judgement

Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration
