Procurement Analyst
Description Job Duties & Responsibilities: + Reviews, negotiates, and approves procurement requisitions; analyzes and works with internal technical customers in developing functional specifications; prepares invitations to quote, effectively sources and obtains proposals on assigned requirements; performs market analysis and negotiates commercial terms with suppliers. + Utilizes pricing and cost analysis techniques to assure the corporation is receiving the best value for its procurement dollar. + Submits recommendations for future corporate contract and future saving actions. + Supports internal customers. Interfaces with them to ensure best overall value is being taken into consideration on all product/commodity acquisitions. + Prepares detailed negotiation plans and conducts effective commercial and technical negotiations. + Supports supplier management activity as outlined by the Supply Chain Policy. + Represents Supply Chain on special teams and committees involving the organization or involving related areas, as assigned. + Assumes interim responsibility for the Supply Chain Department during management absence. Completes various other tasks as assigned by management. Requirements Job Requirements + Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or similar field of study, or 4 years of equivalent industry experience. + Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing w/ technical or Nutraceutical background preferred. + Highly developed skills in the following areas: communication, interpersonal, negotiation, cost analysis, price analysis techniques. Understanding of legal considerations pertaining to contracts and agreements. + Able to read, analyze, and understand technical specifications, technical procedures, process descriptions, etc. + Ability to read, analyze and understand MRP reporting system within FishBowl. + Ability to write reports, correspondence, present information, respond to questions from groups, management, customers, vendors, and general public. + Mathematical, algebraic, and geometric abilities. Calculates discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, areas, volumes, etc. + Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and work with abstract and concrete variables. + Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Microsoft Outlook), FishBowl and QuickBooks.
