Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Processing Technician II for our Torrance, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we’re the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. General Summary:
Coordinates and oversees activities of workers engaged in operating secondary machines to ensure workflow and the productivity of daily goals. Also responsible for set-up, operation, and maintenance of miscellaneous plating machines, processing of parts, meeting print and specification requirements.
Specific Responsibilities:
Clean parts free of oil and grease per departmental specifications Ensure parts are clean prior to chemical immersion Sort parts to separate media, defected parts, FOD and uniformity Paint, Dip, Hand blast and Tumble parts. Strip all coatings from OD/ID of parts Olive drab chromate with color or clear after CAD Plate Basic knowledge of racking, electroplating and working with inspection equipment Have experience with surface treatment. Machine required to use; Hand Blast, Auto Blast, Tumble DeBurr, Jenfab, Hoist, and Spin Dryer, lube booth equipment Maintains a clean and orderly workplace in accordance with 5S standards Must be flexible in the department needs and able to work mandatory overtimeKnowledge and Skills:
Must have plating knowledge in department flow Must have basic computer knowledge Must pass chemical processing certification testing Have the ability to read and interpret blue prints, work instructions, policies, and procedures.
