Process Technologist Lae

We have an immediate requirement for Process Technologist in Lae, reporting to the OpCo Technological Manager.

 

The Process Technologist will support Production, Utilities, and Logistics by ensuring effective control of materials and processes to achieve the highest product quality and maintain compliance by assisting in ensuring all processes within SP Brewery meet operational and quality requirements. The role is critical in driving process improvements and maintaining the quality of all SPB’s products at the lowest possible cost while ensuring high process stability and management. It also focuses on enhancing customer and consumer satisfaction through continuous improvement, upskilling staff, and promoting a strong quality mindset across operations.

 

Specifically, the Process Technologists will be responsible for the organization and administration of checks, tests, audits, training, and education to ensure that responsibility and ownership of quality standards are clearly defined and communicated within the Production, Utilities, and Logistics teams. He / She will ensure that products are brewed and packaged under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), consistently conforming to the quality standards specified by Heineken.

Main Duties will include:

Safety compliance & Implementation Ensure strict compliance with raw material, process, and finished product specifications. Monitor process quality and troubleshoot deviations to maintain product consistency. Promote shop floor excellence through structured routines and quality leadership. Drive and facilitate improvement processes and set priorities to develop, implement and maintain best in class standards and basic conditions. Lead improvement teams to resolve persistent quality problems. Coach the shopfloor team to build technical competence and quality ownership. Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with Heineken and local standards. Maintain and promote Good Manufacturing Practices in all brewing operations. Coordinate implementation of FSSC 22000 and ISO 9001 systems on the shopfloor. Track and report First-Time-Right performance and escalate negative trends promptly. Enforce compliance with cleaning and hygiene standards in brewing, packaging and utilities.

 

Qualification & Experience:

Degree in Science/Applied Science (Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Food Tech, Industrial Management) Knowledge of brewing technology, equipment/machine or beer technology, industrial management, food safety, packaging technology, packaging materials technology Knowledge of TPM, Food Safety and QMS 3–5-year relevant experiences in process technology in related industry Quality orientated and high attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Enthusiastic, can-do attitude and self-motivated Problem analysis and problem resolution skills.
