Process Technician I

Rotational Shift

Starting around $20/hr.

Summary:

Work at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Formulation Technician I in a team ensuring safe, high-quality chemical processes.

Essential Functions:

Operate automated and manual chemical process equipment, including sampling, chemical/material handling, cleaning, and maintenance, in line with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safety guidelines.Maintain a clean and safe process area.Perform manual and computer operations (PCR-2A and PLC or equivalent experience) to manufacture chemical intermediates and finished products, ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies and company policies.Monitor all operations of designated chemical processes to ensure safe chemical procedures and quality standards.Accurately record and analyze processing data to ensure operating standards are met and make approved adjustments as necessary.Make recommendations for improving process operations.Acquire samples of process streams or products, perform tests, and analyze results.Inspect finished products to ensure adherence to specifications.Receive and check raw materials and chemical intermediate deliveries, completing appropriate records.Maintain Quality Systems conformance to regulatory requirements and company policies.Work rotating 12-hour shifts with 7-day-per-week availability and overtime as needed.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent experience

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in production/manufacturing as an operator or equipment maintenance technician, or an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. Experience in a chemical processing or pharmaceutical environment is a plus.Strong mechanical proficiency.Successful completion of Phase I of the Process Tech On-The-Job Training program within 24 months of employment is required.Temp to regular employees must finish the PT training program and Phase I Process Tech On-The-Job Training within 12 months of hire.

Equivalency:

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered based on the above requirements.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must stand, use hands, talk, hear, walk, stoop, kneel, ascend/descend stairs, lift up to 50 lbs., and sit for up to 4 hours. Specific vision abilities needed.
