Job Description

Avery Dennison is seeking a Process Technician to join our Engineering Technology group in Azusa, CA. The Engineering Technology group is responsible for developing, optimizing, and implementing proprietary process technologies and equipment for our manufacturing plants worldwide. Technologies can include; manufacturing RFID devices, precision coating, extrusion, thermal embossing, drying/curing, lamination and other web-based processes such as printing and label converting. This position will support project execution through all phases, from concept design, to scale-up, to commercialization and requires close collaboration with vendors and Avery Dennison plants globally.  This individual will work on-site at our Azusa, CA facility, Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm PST.  

Responsibilities

Maintain and troubleshoot industrial equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operation, including performing routine checks and repairs as needed.Operate and calibrate machining equipment such as lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC machines with a high level of precision and safety.Assist in building and testing prototypes by interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate materials, and ensuring accuracy during fabrication.Support office facility maintenance by performing basic repairs, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring the building systems (HVAC, lighting, etc.) are functioning properly.Collaborate with engineering and design teams to implement process improvements, test modifications, and provide feedback on manufacturability.Document maintenance procedures, machine settings, and test results to support continuous improvement and ensure knowledge transfer.Monitor inventory levels of tools, machine parts, and prototyping materials, and coordinate with purchasing to ensure necessary supplies are available.Ensure compliance with safety standards and company protocols, maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace at all times.

QualificationsMinimum of three (3) years of relative experience required. High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a technical or engineering-related field is a strong plus.Basic understanding of physical sciences such as mechanics, physics, or material science, with the ability to apply principles in real-world applications.Experience or training in 3D design software a plus (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) with the ability to interpret and modify technical drawings.Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude, with the ability to operate tools, machines, and equipment safely and effectively.Capable of lifting and moving heavy equipment or materials (up to 50 lbs) as part of daily operations.Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills, able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently or with a team.Good communication and teamwork abilities, with a willingness to learn and collaborate across departments including engineering, maintenance, and operations.

The hourly rate for this position is $23.15 - $32.41 / hour.
