This role is based in Mogalakwena South Concentrator, Mokopane, Limpopo.

 

Job Description

This position is responsible for the effective operation and control of the production process by monitoring the SCADA systems and to ensure that all production readings are within prescribed limits from the control room and its functions during a shift.

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Allocate tasks to Processors as requiredMonitor process control systems in the section and take appropriate action for variancesContinually monitor resource requirements in the shift to changing conditions and liaise with Shift Leader to balance resources to workloadAdvise the Shift Leader if there is a need to call out engineering specialistsSupport the training of team in operational activitiesLiaise with other Process Supervisors on the shift to solve cross sectional problems.Discipline team members within agreed parametersNon specialised maintenance of equipment related to roleEnsure high standard of physical conditions in sectionReport abnormal activities/conditions to Shift LeaderAssist team during breakdowns or emergencies.Communicate plant defects to the Shift Leader.Ensure that production data is accurate produced and captured.Support the facilitation of section meetings and team coaching.Accurately complete role administration requirements.

Safety, Health, Environment and quality administration

Ensure high standard of safety in sectionReports completed to required standardsComplete safety inspectionsMaintain good housekeepingAdhere to and improved safety standardsReport abnormal activities/conditionsParticipate in safety meetingsIdentify hazards and risks to the process proactivelyPerform isolation procedures for plant equipmentComplete data logging and reporting to standardAccompany safety officer/representative with inspections.

Effective Administration of necessary systems

Compiled accurate shift reportCompleted data logging and reporting to standardGenerated works requestsApplied and understand appropriate legislationApplied and understand basic business principles

This role is in the Processing Department and is at a C2 Level reporting to the Shift Leader

 

Qualifications

IMPORTANT: applications without qualification-related attachments will not be considered.

Grade 12/ NQF 4

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Processor B7 level and operational environmentCompletion of all processor & process supervisory skills programmes (PSDP advantageous)Passed operational maintenance modules (advantageous)Passed Control Room training modules (advantageous)Computer literacy – Word Outlook and ExcelValid driver’s license

 

Additional InformationMust be prepared to work on surface, open pit ‘dusty areas’.Work in accordance to work schedule of area and could possibly involve working shiftsMust be a South African CitizenNo Criminal RecordMust pass the relevant psychometric assessmentMust have good written and verbal communication skills in EnglishA valid South African Driver’s license will be advantageousEssential to be deemed medically fit to work onsite in accordance with Valterra Platinum  Health and Safety requirements for employees
