Job DescriptionWork both independently and as part of a team in a client facing environment.Supporting the client Process Sciences and Manufacturing Departments through the laboratory characterization and validation of manufacturing bioprocessesConduct laboratory-scale cell culture studies (shake flask through fed-batch bioreactor and harvest) to support characterization of cell banks and/or manufacturing bioprocessesPerform affinity chromatography and viral inactivation in support of lab-scale cell culture activitiesPerform cGLP cell banking activities for research useCoordinate with a broader scientific team to align on scheduling of lab activitiesStatistically analyze large data sets and draft technical reports to support commercial filingsPresent on technical topics during cross functional meetingsProvide technical support to client Manufacturing during troubleshooting and continuous improvement opportunitiesEnsures compliance with SOPs; reports any quality or other anomaliesParticipates in required training activities

QualificationsBachelor's degree in life sciences/engineering or related field; Biochemistry preferredHands-on experience with cell culture Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have the innate ability to balance multiple projects, prioritize them and execute them independently, while excelling at keeping all impacted parties well advisedAbility to take on new and sometimes ambiguous challenges, learning quicklyThe ability to work in a team environment but can also take ownership of large technical reports and projectsAbility to develop and drive scientific and/or business-related improvement ideasSelf-motivated, adaptable, and a positive attitudeUnderstand antibody manufacturing processesProficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, NY are encouraged to apply. 

Additional Information

Position is full-time, first-shift.

Training shift (3-6 months): Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Once trained, employee will move to a Sunday-Wednesday schedule, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM. A $50 flat-rate weekend shift differential is also given for Sunday shifts. 

Compensation: $21.50/hour
