Job Purpose BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join our PowerDrive System business unit team. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensure that components and products are consistently manufactured in full compliance with specified requirements. They apply knowledge and a solid understanding of product and process engineering. They improve supplier operations to achieve reductions in lead time, inventory, PPM/total cost, and manufacturing system efficiency. Key Responsibilities Prepare the first and last piece release form.• Prepare the process release form.• Approve Poka-Yoke implementations.• Provide training to Quality Analysts.• Supervise the work of Quality Analysts.• Coordinate projects related to the quality area.• Provide on-site support for customer complaints.• Participate in the preparation of PPAPs.• Define failure analyses related to the standard work of the analysis bench.• Analyze line rejections.• Define containment actions and manage nonconforming material disposition.• Provide training on product quality and acceptance/rejection criteria.• Perform audits of the Control Plan on the assigned line (with focus on IATF).• Manage the SPC system.• Determine the measurement equipment specified in the Control Plans.• Define the creation of Test Masters.• Support APQP activities, such as:o Flow Diagramso Process FMEA (SXO criteria)o Standard Work Sheet Instructionso Setup Instructions• Support tracking of internal and customer PPM indicators, as well as scrap.• Support Continuous Improvement initiatives.• Support Safety Processes.• Support Ergonomics efforts.• Support the definition of action plans for scrap reduction on assigned lines.• Support follow-up and implementation of engineering changes and temporary engineering deviations.• Support the master list of corrective actions and ensure timely completion.• Support customer complaint responses.• Participate in corrective actions using 8D, A3, Storyboard, or any document defined in the corrective action procedure.• Support monitoring of productivity and quality indicators, customer satisfaction, and defining necessary actions.• Support SPC data analysis and sustain process and product improvements.• Support the definition of process parameters and process control.• Support the review of product designs that contribute to manufacturing design and incorporate lessons learned.• Support the closure of improvement idea system actions.• Support the provision of technical leadership, training, and assistance to manufacturing teams as a team member (for new projects).• Attend and participate in required trainings related to new projects.• Comply with the responsibility matrix, job-specific trainings, and access to Ford portals (MRF-RH-01 format). What we are looking for + Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. + Experience in a similar role: 3 years or more in a similar position. + Required technical knowledge: Automotive manufacturing processes, Core Tools, ISO/TS (IATF) & ISO 14001 quality systems, statistical methods, problem-solving techniques. + Other requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
