Process Production Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:  

Lead engineering changes as per Drive procedure – on time / within budget / within procedure / proper documentation that can easily pass any required audits – total coordination. APQP and FMEA lead for engineering changes. Lead monthly RPN reduction meetings based upon high RPN values, customer concerns, high scrap rates and other concerns. Ensure feasibility studies and team review is completed as per engineering procedures. Weekly engineering change meeting attendance. Support cost down/lean/continuous improvement activities as defined by Engineering Manager and partner production teams Work closely with sales, accounting, and purchasing departments, Tier 2 suppliers, and tooling vendors to ensure commercial needs are met in conjunction with engineering changes. Responsible to update FMEAs, work instructions, TPM instructions and in general any controlled document required for production to run the process. Corrective action team member. Weekly meet and greet with partner production teams / leads to ensure they feel supported properly by engineering Perform other duties as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

​PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Office environment: 80% sitting/standing at desk; 20% walking Lifting as required up to 20 lbs. 

EDUCATION: 

Bachelor's Degree in a technical related discipline or 10 years related automotive experience with sound understanding of BIW build fit & function.  

WORK EXPERIENCE / TECHNICAL TRAINING: 

Must have an understanding in the following areas: painting (E-coat, powder and PVC) Class A metal surfaces, prior stamping and/or automation experience a huge plus.Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Project, Word. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong leadership skills

Pay range: $70,000 - $95,000 annual
