Report any current or potential hazards to your immediate supervisor/dept. manager immediately. The correct Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) must be worn at all times. Safety glasses, safety shoes and gloves were appropriate. He/she is responsible for consulting any SOP’s for any job task he/she may carry out and ensure they fully understand and adhere to the SOP. An Engineering professional who applies scientific knowledge, engineering knowledge, mathematics, and ingenuity to complete assignments related to maintenance excellence and reliability. This position is involved in the overall lifecycle of capital assets (designing, delivering, operating, maintaining, and decommissioning) in the most productive and cost-effective manner. Manage the preventive and predictive maintenance programs, manage maintenance line support, manage/support the department and plant maintenance budgets, coordinate plant shutdown assignments, provide capital project input and support as well as overseeing the maintenance resources necessary to assure the production plan is met and/or exceeded while maintaining a zero-incident quality/safety mindset, teamwork attitude and excellent customer service. Process Maintenance manager will oversee all maintenance operations, from routine inspections to emergency repairs, ensuring that every piece of machinery is in top working condition. They prevent costly downtime and ensure product quality through proper equipment maintenance. Effective maintenance requires collaboration across teams and departments. A proactive communicator (2-way) across all functions & levels within the business. **Major Responsibilities:** + Holds themselves and others accountable to delivering results on time and right first time. + Identify and develop team members for future progression. + Drive a culture of compliance to all safety and quality regulations. + Drive Lean /Continuous Improvement /Optimisation initiatives - using lean tools including A3 problem solving. + Setting and ensuring timely completion of engineering schedules. + Achieve agreed engineering measures, minimising downtime and targets. + Ensure process equipment are always fit for purpose. + Develops plans to account for equipment obsolescence and strategic asset changeout. + Forward planning with Production to ensure the timely completion of preventative maintenance schedules. + Ensure spare parts are ordered and available when needed. Achieving engineering operational excellence objectives. + Ensure committed savings are achieved in a timely manner and any obstacles in doing so escalated. + Provide engineering & technical leadership to the manufacturing operations. + Independently gathers maintenance and manufacturing performance data (Maximo, OEE, etc.) and performs preliminary analysis. Reports abnormal operational, quality & EHS findings. Prepares and communicates recommendations and respective action plans to drive cost containment and cost reduction efforts. + Anticipates future directions. Benchmarks internally and externally. Assists with deployment of predictive and reliability centred maintenance strategies. + Provide a centralized, strategic look across equipment performance (downtime), material/component failure analysis, and changeovers. + Predicts patterns/trends. Grasps complexities and sees relationships among data; determines consequences and alternatives; makes recommendations; analyses problems from multiple perspectives. + Improves maintenance processes. Recognizes and implements process improvements and cost reductions; creatively applies others’ ideas. + Build and maintain relationships with others at all levels to develop mutually beneficial outcomes while using diplomacy, tact, and interpersonal skills to support others in reaching consensus. + **Additional Responsibilities may include:** + Act as a designee for Process Engineering Manager + Develops procedures and standards. + Directs the efforts of others such as technicians and outside resources. + Provides training. + Supervising the resources for Preventive/Predictive Maintenance. **Supervisory/Management Responsibilities** + This role reports into the Process Engineering Manager + Maintenance supervisors report into this position with indirect responsibility over maintenance craft/technicians. **Education Required:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline. **Knowledge** + Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in Engineering. + Preference is given to an Engineer with an electrical background with a working knowledge of industrial systems. + Knowledge of an Automated Manufacturing Environment with a good solid understanding of food processing equipment is essential + The ability to organize, motivate and understand people [Contractors, Equipment Suppliers and team members] + Minimum 3 years managing a Team. + Prior experience in a Dairy/Food Process Engineering role is preferential, or indepth experience with Evaporators and Spray Dryers + Ability to multi-task and to work in a high paced environment with an awareness of continued impact on production and the plant performance. + Organised and resourceful with excellent attention to detail and ability to get the job done + Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
