Process Improvement Consultant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Process Improvement Consultant to lead a comprehensive redesign of our Accounts Payable (AP) function. This role will focus on streamlining workflows, enhancing internal controls, and improving operational efficiency within an AS400-based environment. The consultant will work cross-functionally to document processes, establish SOPs, and support training and adoption across departments.\n\n-Process Redesign & Optimization\nConduct a current-state assessment of the AP process, identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and compliance risks.\nDesign a future-state AP process that aligns with business needs and leverages AS400 capabilities.\nDefine clear process boundaries, handoffs, and ownership across departments (e.g., procurement, finance, operations).\n\n-Controls & Compliance\nEstablish and document internal controls to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and fraud prevention.\nRecommend and implement approval workflows, segregation of duties, and audit trails within the AS400 system.\n\n-Documentation & SOPs\nDevelop detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all AP-related activities.\nCreate process maps and RACI charts to clarify roles and responsibilities across the AP lifecycle.\n\n-Training & Change Enablement\nDeliver training sessions and materials for AP staff and relevant stakeholders.\nSupport adoption of new processes through hands-on guidance and feedback loops.\n\n-Cross-Functional Collaboration\nCollaborate with IT, procurement, and finance teams to ensure end-to-end process alignment.\nServe as a liaison to ensure that upstream and downstream processes are clearly defined and integrated.\n\n-Deliverables:\nCurrent vs. future state process maps\nSOPs and internal control documentation\nTraining materials and delivery\nRecommendations report with KPIs for success\nPost-implementation support plan

The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $140.00/hr.
