Process Engineering Technician

Process Engineer Tech is responsible for supporting all production functions, and assisting with developing work instructions to ensure consistent, reliable and high-quality level products within economic constraints. Must apply direct floor experience to deploy efficient and capable processes to various processes such as high model mix electronic repair and assembly, forward/reverse logistic and liquidation processes in response to business requirements. The role will assist to set up a repair process and equipment for cell phone devices.

This is an onsite role within our Mt. Juliet TN facility.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Assist Process Development for Repair of Cell phone devicesAssist in implementing and maintaining repair processes for cell phone devicesThe processes are inspection, testing, replacement of major components, correct tools to perform repairs and a process setup for the storeroom with the spare partsWork with the operations team and quality group to make sure the repair process supports customer requirementsDevelop work instructions for the process and process flow chartsImplement and support cell phone repair certification for Apple, Samsung, and MotorolaAssist in implementing improvements for the process that will reduce costs and improve customer satisfactionParticipate in lean/six sigma process improvement initiatives, Kaizen events, and Value Stream MappingSupport manufacturing operations with regards to device failure validation, root cause analysis, corrective action implementationLean manufacturing experience with the ability to implement Lean concepts such as single piece flow manufacturing, Kanban material replenishment, Heijunka schedule planning, Takt time/cycle time work element analysis and line balancing, etc.Collaborate with plant and leadership team, customers, suppliers, and production floor personnel to identify and facilitate projects to improve key performance indicators (KPIs)Perform time studies and work on reducing time for repairsTrain operators on repair processes and procedures based on work instructionsSupport any process issues that are escalated or identified on the floor so the repair area can continue to repair phonesUtilize Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, & Excel) for the purpose of editing, revising, and creating production documentation and process analysisPerform root cause failure analysis on repair process failuresActively identify & pursue Lean process improvement initiatives

What are the requirements needed for this position?

Associates/Technical Degree Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering3+ years' experience in Lean Process Engineering environments3+ years' experience with line balancing, cycle times, MOST, and takt times

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent or 5+ years of active experience in Process Engineering activities described in job responsibilities sectionAutomation and equipment line balancing & sustainment experienceWork with Customers and other Organization Groups to document / develop process requirementsActively identify & pursue process improvement initiatives resulting in decreased CPUStrong focus with continuous process improvement (CPI)Experience in a reverse logistics environmentAbility to multitask in a fast paced, dynamic assembly and logistics environment

Pay Range:

$23.13 - $38.18

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
