Process Engineering Professional - El Segundo, CA

Jacobs is searching for a dynamic Process Engineering Professional to join our team in El Segundo, CA. In this role, you'll perform process engineering work and provides process control expertise as well as small to mid-scale project management and coordination with operations, maintenance, lab, the Client and their third parties. You’ll ensure optimum plant performance, compliance with water quality objectives, and achievement of production goals through the development and implementation of process control management systems for four treatment facilities. Principal Areas of Responsibility • Reviews and analyzes plant operating data to determine current operating conditions. • Collection, organization, and normalization of process data. • Issues instructions and control orders directing plant operations staff to adjust control setpoints to maintain water quality and recommends solutions to observed problems seen through process monitoring. • Responsible for recognizing trends in process data and possessing the ability to present in both report and presentation format. • Reviews reports, plans, and specifications prepared by outside consultants. • Provides plant design, facility modifications and upgrades, process control improvements and coordinates operation, maintenance/repairs, and construction activities. • Ensures optimum plant performance and compliance with water quality and production objectives. • Ensures all equipment is functioning and is properly maintained in accordance with Manufacturer’s recommendations. • Evaluates and monitors the operation, maintenance and performance of the main treatment plant and three satellite facilities, including reviewing existing system designs and operating parameters, conducting performance testing, and troubleshooting operational equipment and instrumentation problems. • Oversee project specific work involving maintenance staff in the completion of work-related responsibilities as needed. • Participates in cross department projects and R&D projects, as directed, and coordinates pilot activities with internal staff, the Client, consultants, and third parties as required. • Maintains process control data management system. • Comply with safe work plans associated with assigned tasks. • Prepares routine process performance reports documenting treatment performance, plant production, and treatment costs. • Performs other duties as directed. Some areas can have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, airborne particles, noxious gases, pathogens and various chemicals. Safety is of the utmost importance. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, twist and bend at the waist, turn, kneel, squat, raise arms above shoulder height, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements and fine coordination when preparing reports and using a computer keyboard, have vision sufficient to read computer screens, printed documents and operate office equipment, have hearing in the normal range with or without correction. In an 8-hour time period must be able to transport self across the facility, ascend and descend stair steps, lift objects up to 50 pounds from floor level to waist height, wear and use appropriate safety equipment.
