And so much more.​   ​ Come break through with us.  Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. **Role Purpose** The Process Engineering Manager will be a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of process engineering within our organization. This position plays a crucial role in driving operational excellence, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Process Engineering Manager will lead a team of skilled engineers to design, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing processes, ensuring the highest level of productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, enhance product development, and maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations. **Key Responsibilities** + Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of process supervisors & engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to foster a culture of excellence and professional growth. + Process Optimization: Analyze existing manufacturing processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity. + Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies, Kaizen events, and other process improvement tools to streamline operations and drive performance excellence. + New Process Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless integration of advanced technologies and best practices. + Cost Management: Monitor and control production costs, seeking innovative ways to reduce expenses while maintaining product quality and safety standards. + Quality Assurance: Implement robust quality assurance processes to ensure products meet or exceed regulatory and customer requirements, striving for zero defects. + Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges in manufacturing processes, implementing preventive measures to mitigate operational disruptions. + Project Management: Lead process engineering projects, managing timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project execution and timely delivery. + Collaboration: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including R&D, production, maintenance, and supply chain teams, to foster a cohesive and collaborative work environment. **Experiences/Education - Required** + Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering field (Mechatronics, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field) + Bilingual English / Spanish + Industry 4.0: ML / AI + DA softwares understanding / usage (Nice to have) **Experiences/Education - Desired** + Proven experience in process engineering, with experience in a managerial or leadership roles. + Strong background in process optimization, Lean Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. + Proficiency in process simulation software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools. + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive data-driven decisions. + Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams. + Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization. + Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to manufacturing processes. + Project management experience and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. + Adaptability to evolving technologies and a commitment to staying updated with industry trends. + Lead or participate in engineering strategy creating process **Corning Puts YOU First!** We are committed to supporting your health, financial, career development, and life goals as you grow professionally and personally to achieve your highest potential.
