Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we’re looking to add a Process Engineering Intern located in our Columbia, SC site.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the student will work on challenging projects in support of real-time business issues, to develop skills and experiences.

What a typical day looks like:

Support the implementation and evaluation of proposed designs and processes for manufacturabilityAssist with the justification, purchase and implementation of capital equipment for productionAssist and oversee the new process equipment productionParticipate in activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements and materialsAssist with statistical process analysis on new and existing products as well as the improvement of manufacturing safety, productivity and yield improvementsProvide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilitiesDevelop and maintain process documentationInterface with production of all activities associated with new process implementation and transferAssist in the development of training and provide training to production personnel during new technology transferMake recommendations on cost improvement and reduction programs

Student qualities we’re seeking for this internship assignment:

Jr/Sr (undergrad) student pursuing Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering bachelors degreeHighly collaborative, creative and excellent communication skillsEnthusiastic about robotics and high-speed manufacturing processesFamiliarity working in a cleanroom environment highly desiredWork schedule: M-F; 8am-5pmPrevious internship experience working for a manufacturing company - a plus!

Available to work 40 hours/week (in-person) for a 10-12 week Summer assignmentCurrently enrolled in 4-year accredited university3.0 minimum GPAJob CategoryIntern
