Job Description
An established engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company in Calgary seeks an experienced Process Engineer to join their Oil, Gas & Chemical global practice. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of downstream experience in Natural Gas Liquids, Fractionation, Petro-Chemical, and Refineries from an Engineering Consulting experience. They will contribute to various projects, including midstream and logistics facilities, refining assets, chemical production plants, and emerging market opportunities.
ResponsibilitiesManage process design project teams to create world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments within the OGC global practice.Lead Process Engineering design activities from the conceptual phase through design completion.Develop process design calculations and deliverables such as hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, process simulations, Heat and Material Balances (H&MB), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).Execute complex assignments using advanced engineering techniques.Evaluate plans for major projects and apply expert knowledge to find non-standard design solutions.Conduct quality reviews of production drawings and construction administration.Manage field inspections, measurements, and calculations for public and private clients.Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, customers, and contractors.Manage sales and marketing efforts, develop cost proposals, and ensure customer satisfaction.Provide leadership and guidance to the chemical engineering practice.Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes and safety policies.Essential Skills15+ years of experience as a Process Engineer.Professional Engineer license required.EPC background with downstream project experience (such as NGL, Petrochemical, Fractionation, Refinery).Expert skills in simulation software (Hysys and/or Aspen, HTRI).Strong knowledge of Canadian chemical design codes.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related field (A master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience).Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization skills.Work Environment
The role involves leading a team of 2-3 people and reporting to the Process Engineering Manager. The position is based out of a new office in the Beltline area, Calgary, with a team goal of expanding to 150-200 people. The company offers a hybrid work model with 30 days of remote work annually. Occasional travel to projects in Alberta may be required.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $155000.00/yr.
