And so much more.​   ​ Come break through with us.  Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. **Role Purpose** The Process Engineer will be responsible for the development, improvement, and implementation of processes in our optical cable manufacturing facility. They will be tasked with combining knowledge in plastic processing and extrusion, data analysis, statistics, and project management to ensure consistent, efficient and capable operation. **Key Responsibilities** - Development and optimization of manufacturing processes in relation to plastic processing and extrusion - Performing data analysis and applying statistical methods to identify areas for improvement - Project management for process improvements and new product introductions - Troubleshooting and resolving production issues related to equipment, processes, and materials - Training of manufacturing personnel on new or revised manufacturing process procedures - Documentation of procedures, process parameters, and process improvements **Experiences/Education - Required** - Bachelor’s degree in engineering - Proven ability to use data analysis and statistics to drive process improvements - Experience in project management - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work in a team-oriented environment - Good project management skills - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines - Proficiency in statistical software and data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, desirable in Phyton) - Understanding of Six Sigma methodologies - Familiarity with optical cable manufacturing processes and equipment - Proficient in Project Management software and methodologies. **Corning Puts YOU First!** We are committed to supporting your health, financial, career development, and life goals as you grow professionally and personally to achieve your highest potential.
