Overall Role Purpose:

Identify, evaluate and implement improvements in the processes and handling/distribution operations throughout the country in line with Network and Regional Standards, to continuously challenge the existing shipment movement operations and processes with a view to improve operating and service performance and promote cost effectiveness and increased profitability

Internal Customers

Country Operations and Regional Engineering

Act as a strong communication link between Country and Regional Engineering staffProvide engineering services to the Region & other Countries under the Management of Regional Network Operations Engineering

Country Operations

Provide Industrial Engineering expertise, techniques and methodologies/structure to direct the country in improving service, processes, productivity and profitabilityDevelop short & long term plans in the areas of facilities, equipment, network for the countryAssisting in conducting Training programs for local country staffCarry out any task that is required by his or her superiors from time to time.

Regional Engineering

Provide suggestions to Regional Engineering on self developed areas of improvement

External Stakeholder

Vendors/Contractors

Manage engineering projects, vendors, contractors Cost exposure - EUR 5K - 2,000K per projectProvide regular vendor management reviews and align with the country GBS for Procurement HeadLiaise with vendors to ensure Operations get all the necessary urgent support and coordinate with OPS GET system requestors for a timely PRPO creation; logs on item DRs and SRs; and last mile GRN to close the transaction

Work closely in the implementation of regional and global initiative at a country level with the Regional Operations TeamParticipate in regional workgroups and activities

Operations Improvement Deployment

Identify and implement improvements in the areas of business activities, sequence of operations/work flows, staffing, handling methods and equipmentEnsure optimization of hubs and gateways in properly fillingEnsure optimization of network/land transport and courier routesEnsure optimization of Operations staffingPrepare facility plans and equipment layouts to maximize efficiency and space usageEnsure implementation of Regional Standards for processes, work methods, performance/throughput standards and measurement systemsUse MSD or other work measurement tools (time and motion studies, etc.)Perform engineering and financial analyses of proposals along with sound economical and business justifications for expendituresOperations Improvement SupportAssist in implementing required changes in implementing Regional StandardsAssist in monitoring productivity and service and cost performanceAssist in preparation of CAAs, AOPs & long range plans for expansion, procedures, staffing, equipment, vehicles and products.Assist in conducting local training programs

People Management:

Develop a high performance service culture within the functional department. Plan, organize and direct and efficient and effective functional department.Develop IKOs/KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance.Consult performance appraisal.Manage the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff to the achievement of Global, Regional and Country objectives and targets.Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department.

Educational Qualification
