Process Engineer
GE
Job Description SummaryThe Process Engineer is responsible for analyzing, developing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-efficiency within the organization. This role focuses on identifying opportunities for process optimization, implementing changes, and supporting the seamless integration of new technologies, machinery, or production techniques. The Process Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality control, maintenance, and supply chain, to ensure that production processes are effective, sustainable, and aligned with business goals.
Process Engineer will have a strong foundation in manufacturing processes, data analysis, and lean manufacturing principles. This position requires both technical expertise and the ability to drive change across different teams and departments.Job Description
• Implement changes to improve process flows, eliminate bottlenecks, reduce waste, and increase overall production efficiency using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Develop and test new processes, technologies, or materials to optimize the production of high-quality products.
• Support the design and installation of new production lines or equipment, including the specification of machinery, materials, and tooling.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting process-related issues, helping to diagnose and resolve production problems quickly and effectively.
• Monitor and control key process parameters to ensure production consistency, quality, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Use statistical process control (SPC) tools and other analytical techniques to monitor, track, and improve process performance over time.
• Evaluate and implement advanced manufacturing technologies, such as automation, robotics, or digitalization (Industry 4.0), to drive efficiency and scalability.
• Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in process performance and efficiency.
• Create and maintain reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as cycle time, yield, downtime, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Work closely with the Quality team to ensure that processes are compliant with product specifications and quality standards.
• Provide training to operators, production staff, and other engineers on new or modified processes, technologies, and best practices.
• Develop and document standard operating procedures, planning and work instructions to ensure consistency and knowledge retention.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices within the engineering and production teams, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions.
