Job Description
The primary function of the Process Engineer is to support the Pourline Process Manager by overseeing day-to-day production from a process perspective. This includes modifying production schedules to optimize yield and ensuring overall process health through maintenance and daily checks.
ResponsibilitiesFollow all general safety regulations and use provided safety equipment as required.Understand ISO 9001 requirements and adhere to established work instructions and procedures.Modify existing reporting systems for new methods, material specifications, and products.Create new machinery and process systems.Implement process improvements and write and update procedures.Train personnel and develop foam formulations that meet customer and organizational expectations.Maintain a neat, organized, and clean work area, following 5S principles where appropriate.Cross-train in other positions as required.Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.Essential SkillsA degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or at least 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the polymer industry.Ability to read and interpret documents and training materials such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions.Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.University-level proficiency in mathematics, including algebra, transport, heat transfer, and fluid flow phenomena.Logical approach to problem-solving and decision-making based on facts and verifiable figures.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with process improvement and process engineering.Familiarity with continuous improvement and work instruction.Work Environment
The work environment includes both an office in a climate-controlled area and a plant that is not climate-controlled. Employees are occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate. Standard work hours consist of eight hours per day, five days per week, but may vary according to business needs, including overtime and irregular hours. Equipment used ranges from pourline machinery and small hand tools to PCs with Microsoft Office.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
