Job Description
The Dimensional Engineer is focused on managing vehicle fit and finish based on key process metrics derived from customer feedback, including GCA and A/B/C/FVS metrics. This position requires effective communication with production teams, maintenance staff, suppliers, and the shop committee. A high level of initiative in decision-making is essential, along with independent judgment.
ResponsibilitiesManage vehicle fit and finish using key process metrics.Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, suppliers, and shop committee.Utilize independent judgment to make decisions.Maintain quality standards in fabrication processes.Essential SkillsProficiency in GD&T and datum strategies.Expertise in root cause analysis and fabrication.Understanding of body shop and general assembly build strategies.Background in dimensional, manufacturing, statistical, or mechanical engineering.Knowledge of PFMEA, metrology, scanning, and metrology software.Additional Skills & QualificationsFluency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Experience with vision systems and tooling design.Work Environment
The work environment spans both production/manufacturing (75%) and engineering office settings (25%). It primarily involves working with the body shop group. The facility operates on a flexible shift schedule, with workdays from Monday to Saturday, including every 3rd Sunday. Shifts may include day shift (5:30AM-3PM), second shift (1:30PM-11PM), or third shift (9:30PM-7AM). Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, high visibility vests, and arm covers must be worn at all times.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
