Process Engineer

Description

To support existing and upcoming programs – Aftermarket/AOE and IOE customers, support growth. To add and increase the support to take the product lines from start to Phase 4 and into production, in line with Company standards, APQP initiatives.

This position will also give support to packaging engineering. The incumbent will have an active role in problem solving; participate as PD team member from Phase 1 to Production. Assist in establishing run at rates, process development, PFMEA/P Flow Diagrams, develop and maintain SOP’s and maintain programs for changes into production and continuous improvement. Project management for outside equipment houses will also be handled by this position.

Responsible for a number of diverse duties and projects which may include developing manufacturing methods and processes, writing operation sheets for products or tools, investigating and troubleshooting manufacturing problems, reviewing drawings and designs during the development phase, preparing time studies and estimates for sales. Investigates, establishes, and implements requirements for equipment, tooling, materials, or methods of manufacturing, including make or buy decisions and facility layout as required for new or revised products.

Plans and designs floor layouts to properly locate and coordinate equipment for efficient production. Develops and implements production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost efficient manner. Investigates and resolves work-in-process problems. Recommends and implements improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters. Monitors assigned operations to assure compliance with approved methods and quality standards. Reviews proposals of outside vendors regarding the purchase of new or modernization of existing production/processing equipment.

The scope of this role also includes:

Skills & Qualifications

- 5+ years of process engineering experience

- Experienced in a unionized environment

- Hands-on experience working with machinery

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
